1. To demonstrate an understanding of Data Classification and how it is used.

Classifying confidential and sensitive data has become an important process for any organization:

a. Describe data classification and why it is important to identifying and safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

b. Describe the various data types discussed in class (i.e. Public Use, General Internal Use, Controlled Internal Use, Restricted Internal Use and Regulated Internal Use) and provide one or two examples of each that you might find in a typical university environment (e.g Community College, University).
