Activity 1: Analysis of Variance

This question set uses the StudentSurvey.csv data file. These data were collected from a sample of college students. We will be comparing students who are in different class years in terms of their GPA.

Activity 1_A:

Use Minitab to construct side-by-side boxplots to compare students in terms of their Class Year (FirstYear, Sophomore, Junior, Senior) and GPA.

Activity 1_B:

Use Minitab to conduct a one-way ANOVA to compare the mean GPA of the four groups.

Use the five-step hypothesis testing procedure.

Step 1: State hypotheses and check assumptions.

Step 2: Compute the test statistic.

Activity 1_B:

Step 3: Determine the p-value.

Activity 1_B:

Step 4: Decide to reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis.

Activity 1_C:

Use Minitab to conduct Tukey simultaneous tests for differences in means. Remember to include your relevant output here. Clearly state whether the pair is significantly different or not.
