Topic : Can we live without plastic? And what are the alternatives? Are there alternatives? : A study of TESCO and Asda in the UK.

Research Aim

The aim of this study is to investigate whether or not it is possible to live without the use of plastic with special emphasis placed on TESCO and Asda and to identify some viable alternatives to plastic.

Research Objectives

The following objectives are going to be investigated as part of this research:

i.To identify how much plastic packaging TESCO and Asda use.

ii. To explore what sorts of plastic substitutes supermarkets offer for customers to use.

iii. To assess the potential for success in introducing new forms of packaging to TESCO and Asda.

iv. To determine the effects that cutting down on the use of plastic might have on both the environment and society.

v. Examine the difficulties that TESCO and Asda encounter with alternative plastic usage.

Research Questions

The research seeks to address the following issues:

1.How can UK grocery stores like TESCO and Asda lessen their reliance on plastic?

2. What other materials may be used instead of plastic?

3. What effects does plastic reduction have on the earth and people?

4. What challenges do TESCO and Asda face when trying to increase their use of alternative plastics?
