Plan: Work Breakdown Structure

• we need to construct a project plan that outlines who will be doing what, and by when, in order to deliver this project.The first step in constructing thisplan,is to draft work breakdownstructure
• Each work package should conclude with a clear milestone .Some people refer to WBS as a "work back schedule" because they start with this end milestone and work backwards in terms of identifying thepreceedinglead-up tasks.
• Insert a column for WBS so that the ID# for each activity
• Each activity in the WBS has a clear verb so that the action the assigned person must take is clear.
• Each subsequent level (or sub-category) of tasks isindentedas part of the WBS decomposition

Plan: Project Schedule

• Once the WBS has beenidentified we now know which activities need to be completed (aka "the steps" or "the to-do's"., we knowhave tocomplete the schedule byidentifying:
• The estimatedduration itwill take to complete eachactivity
• Any relationships that exist between the activities (eg.This activitycan'tstart until this other one is finished)
• The planned start and end date for each activity

Plan: Project Resources

• Once the Project Schedule has beenidentified, we can now assign resources to each of the activities.
• The week 10 lecture materials will be a great reference point.
• List the types of people and roles that you expect will be neededin order todeliver this project.
• Also list the high-level categories of resources that will be neededin order todeliver the project (eg.Materials, Equipment, Venues)
• Populate the estimated costs for each of the resources.These could be Standard Costs/Hr for people (including the team - make sure you pay yourselves!) and well as Cost/Use for fixed costs (eg.Venue Rental $1,000)
