TQM for Managers

Objective: In this assignment, students will analyse an existing company's publicly available Quality Manual. The objective is to gain insights into the company's quality management system and compare it to the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) discussed in Assignment 1. By doing so, students will identify areas of alignment and potential improvement while understanding how the company's quality practices contribute to its success. Tasks: 1. Obtain the Quality Manual of a publicly available company: Students will research and select a company with its qualify manual publicly accessible (c.g. on the company's website or through official regulatory websites). 2. Analyse the Quality Manual Students will carefully review the company/s Quality Manual, focusing on its structure, key elements, quality policies, procedures, and performance metrics. They will also examine how the manual reflects the company's commitment to quality and continuous improvement. 3. Compare with TQM principles: Based on the findings from Assignment 1 on TQM theories and practices, students will compare the content of the Quality Manual with the principles of TQM. They will identify areas where the company aligns well with TQM principles and where there might be potential for improvement. 4. Identify strengths and weaknesses: Students will highlight the company's strengths in its quality management system and how they contribute to its success. They will also identify weaknesses or gaps hindering the organisation's ability to achieve higher-quality performance. 5. Propose improvement recommendations: Based on the comparison and analysis, students will propose specific recommendations for the company to enhance its quality management system. These recommendations should be aligned with TQM principles and designed to foster continuous improvement
