Tutorial 3b: Drawing lines There are several ways to draw (plot) a straight line using the graphing tool. Different exercises will require you to take one of these approaches Some exercises will require you to simply plot a line by locating the end points of this line. The approach here is to choose the appropriate line tool, move your mouse onto the canvas and click for the first endpoint, then move your mouse to another location and click again to complete the line by plotting the other endpoint You might be required to plot each endpoint in a specific location of perhaps just draw the line to be upward sloping, downward sloping, horizontal or vertical Some questions will require you to plot a line as a series of line segments by identifying multiple points on the graph as seen in the previous exercise. In this tutorial, we are going to plot two lines, each similar in shape but each drawn slightly differently. The first line will be drawn by locating the end points touching each axis. Choose the tool Line and plot the first endpoint touching the y-axis at a value of 5 (0.5) and the other endpoint touching the x-axis at a value of 4 (4,0). The second line will be similar in shape but with endpoints locates anywhere you like so long as the line is downward sloping.
