Two DC supplies are connected in parallel, with their positive terminals connected together. The voltage and internal resistance of battery B1, is 120 volts and 100 respectively, and the corresponding values for B2, are 150 volt and 20 02. The two connections of the parallel combination are brought out to two terminals, A & B. a) Draw a circuit diagram of the above arrangement. b) Calculate and draw the Thevenin equivalent circuit. c) A 50 resistor is now connected across terminals A & B. Determine the current through the 50 resistor. d) Calculate the magnitude and direction of flow of the current through each battery. e) If the 500 resistor is changed to 2002, determine the new value of current through it.
