Two times to play:
Oct. : single player simulation you act as a retailer, and the system will play the other roles
Oct. : multiple players you work as a role in a chain; the student may serve as a retailer, wholesaler, distributor, and factory
Game duration: hour In class; the game must be completed within the set time.
Tips: Before and During Simulation Play
The Root Beer Game is unique in that students are assigned a role within a team referred to as a "chain" but you do not know in advance who else is part of your chain. You will be randomly assigned to a chain. The simulation requires active participation from every user assigned to a chain; otherwise, students in an incomplete chain cannot proceed.
All students meet for the class session via a Zoom conference platform. Students log into the simulation and are ready to begin. After the game is completed, all students come together for a debrief.
The game must be completed within a hour time setting. Take necessary screenshots or notes; these will be used for your report analysis.
Debrief
After we complete the game, I may show you the class summary. If you have any questions or tips, they would be greatly appreciated.
Please note: Feel free to participate without worrying about winning or losing during the gameplay. I won't be assessing you based on victory. What's important is your analysis derived from your practical experience during the simulation. Cover these questions as well and give visual report. Examine the entire process and identify the congestion, bottlenecks, issues with distribution and consumer concerns
Examine the supply side, transport wholesale, distribution and consumer side
