Businesses in the United States are governed by laws that provide rights to all individuals regardless of their race, color, religion. gender, or country of origin. The U$.$S$.$ Constitution established three branches of government to ensure that no one group or Individual could control all the power. The three branches$-$legislative, executive, and judiclal$-$act as a system of checks and balances.

The goal of this activity is to determine which branch of government regulates various business and HR Issues. The three branches of government in the United States influence specific HRM practices such as recruitment, selection, compensation, benefits, and performance management. Individuals need to be aware of the U$.$S$.$ legal system and legislation governing HRM practices in the workplace.
