Also how come The Rewrite strategy is based on the principle of alteration? the example below is rewriting the code I think should be refinment not alteration. Please let me know in plain English.

Based on the principle of alteration, where the operational system is transformed preserving the abstraction level of the original system.

For example, Fortran code of a system can be rewritten in the C language.
