Under the professional learning community and mentor new teacher programs , teachers come together and devise new ways which help them become better instructors . When teachers learn from each other they are able to get new ideas which when they apply to their students they are able to perform well . In the Professional Learning Community teachers share the strengths and weaknesses of their students , the things they do in their classroom in order to engage their students to participate actively . They also help each other form plans and projects that lead to better instructions to the students . According to Burden ( 2016 ) , " The specific work of professional learning communities might involve examining the standards and designing lessons or units to meet them effectively , evaluating student work and projects , dealing with classroom management and discipline issues , and so forth . "
