Background

This unit aims to develop the skills of a business analyst, trained to view organizational issues from a comprehensive perspective. This approach allows the analyst to rapidly comprehend the strategic goals of the organization, the structure of its operations, the business environment, and the organizational culture. Students are expected to demonstrate their understanding of these aspects. The role of a business analyst extends to stewardship, engaging stakeholders with integrity, and guiding them through organizational capabilities and needs to achieve efficiency, fulfillment, and sustained competitive advantage. Students will learn to appreciate the attributes of a business analyst as they navigate organizational complexities, helping stakeholders realize the benefits of their investment in business analysis knowledge.

Activity

Students will engage in an asynchronous online discussion forum set up for this purpose in the LMS$.$ Expectations will be that students will need to post their initial response to the background as an individual response by mid$-$week, and that they must respond to at least two other initial responses, or secondary responses of other students, before the end of the week.
