Unit $1-$ Learning Activity: Project Scheduling and Cost Management

Objective

This exercise aims to help learners apply fundamental project management techniques by creating a high$-$level schedule for a familiar project.

Instructions

Group Formation and Project Selection:

Form groups, with each group selecting a project they are familiar with. Example projects include organizing a birthday party, developing a website, or renovating a kitchen.

Task Listing:

Develop a list of at least $10$ high$-$level tasks necessary for the completion of the chosen project.

Task Dependencies:

Identify and document any dependencies between the tasks. Specify the type of dependency $($e$.$g$.,$ finish$-$to$-$start, start$-$to$-$start$).$

Duration and Cost Estimation:

For each task, estimate the approximate duration and cost.

Submission

One representative from each group will compile the tasks, dependencies, durations, and cost estimates into a comprehensive PDF$.$

Ensure the PDF is well$-$organized and includes the project title, group members names, and a clear representation of the information.

Reflection

After completing the exercise, each group discuss what they learned about the project management process, any challenges they faced during the exercise, and how they overcame them.
