Purpose

This discussion is to present and receive feedback on your project proposal and to review your peers' project proposals. Everyone will benefit from receiving constructive and actionable feedback.

Task

This discussion will help you to make improvements to a draft of the Project Proposal writing assignment due this week.

In one paragraph, present the problem you wish to solve, either in the workplace or your community, and propose a solution to that problem. Identify a specific decision-maker (or makers if, for example, you propose a solution to a workplace issue in your department that might require action by the HR director and your department head). Examples of such people might be your apartment community manager, the director of base housing where you are stationed, your department head in your workplace, or your commander for your military unit.

To make your Project Proposal convincing, you must answer the question, "How will my workplace or community (this should be narrowly defined as your neighborhood, apartment community, school, base housing community, etc.) be made better because of the solution(s) I recommend?"

After making your post, review the posts of your classmates. Afterward, post specific suggestions to help classmates refine their chosen topics and improve their Project Proposals. Is there anything else you think a decision-maker should know? Are problems described with an adequate amount of detail? Are the proposed solutions convincing?
