Urgent: Please write a personal statement for law school. (4,000 characters maximum) (If possible, include that I have previously taken a business law course and have some legal experience, as well as that I have participated in a court case for school.)

Tips: Bring your reasons for wanting to study law to life by focusing on aspects of law that are of particular interest to you, how it relates to your current studies, and what additional reading you've done. However, keep it brief - three or so paragraphs should suffice.

How your skills fit: demonstrate that you have, or are working on, the skills required for success in law, such as public speaking, persuasive writing, or meticulous attention to detail when writing essays.

Combined course applications: If you're applying for law alongside another subject, make sure you demonstrate something relevant to that subject as well.

Extracurricular activities: yet another way to demonstrate your motivation, skills, and enthusiasm for the course.

For instance, in the first section - writing about the course - there are prompts such as: Why are you applying for the selected course(s)? Why is this topic of interest to you?

The second section, about skills and achievements, will ask you to include information about the skills you have that will help you, as well as any supporting evidence to back up why you're so enthusiastic about the course(s) you've chosen, as well as other achievements you're proud of and/or positions of responsibility you've held.

The final section will provide prompts to help you consider any work or volunteer experience you have and how you can relate that - or the skills you gained - to the course(s) you wish to pursue.
