i Perform a mesh study to select the appropriate mesh size for this analysis. You
can use the deformation of point P to develop mesh sensitivity graph. Then
provide the graph and information of appropriate mesh here.
ii Determine the maximum deformation of structure and where it is happening. Also
provide the contour plot of deformation in XY view.
iii Determine the total reaction force at joints A and B through ABAQUS. Then
determine these forces theoretically and validate your simulation results.
iv Develop the contour plots of von misses stress and Absolute Max Principle stress
and determine which beams in the structure are experience maximum stress. Are
those links under tension or compression? Also discuss if the maximum stress in
those beams generate any plastic strains?
v Now from analysis of iv choose beams that have higher Max Principle abs
stress and change the beam profile in those selected beams only to a circular cross
section with radius of m and solve the new model. Determine the maximum
displacement and maximum principle stress of the new model provide the contour plot for both parameters does the maximum displacement decrease or increase? Which beams are experiencing the maximum stress now Discuss why those changes occurs?
