Use the general DMAIC framework for this with any company in refrence as if you were a process consultant tasked with identifying a process and an improvement for that process. The write-up should follow the general format below 1. Short company introduction (what they do, primary customers, etc.) 2. Brief description of the department or work area you wish to analyze and improve 1. Ex: This process occurs on the manufacturing operations floor where materials are brought to the operator, and operators are to dispose of the material carts by dropping them off in the designated areas for pickup 3. Process flow highlighting each step involved in executing your process (in the current state) 1. Keep focus narrow to your process 2. Include both value-added and non-value-added time Note* - You can create your process flow in Microsoft Excel for the sake of the exercise 4.
