Please see the Google Sheet in the Canvas module to find your assigned invasive. While others may be assigned the same organism, you will beworking individually. Use your time in class wisely! Most of this project will be completed at home. The projectwill count as a summative (test) grade for the fourth quarter.Late projects lose 5 points per day.

Slide 1: Title Slide

  • Common name(s) of your assigned invasive
  • Scientific name (binomial!) of your invasive
  • Your name and class period

Slide 2: Description

  • Describe your invasive
    • Plant or animal?
    • What general classification group does it belong to? (Family)
    • General size (Dimensions) Metric or Customary Units are OK
    • Distinguishing characteristics/specialized features/coloration/etc

Slide 3: Native Habitat

  • What region(s) of the world is your invasivenative to?
  • Describe your invasive'snative habitat
  • Describe anynative predators/competitors/diseases

Slide 4: Introduction to US

  • How, when, and where was the invasiveintroduced into the United States?
  • Include a map showing therange of the organism in the US at present time (range map or distribution map)

Slide 5: Effects

  • Describe the negative effects the invasive has on the environment / economy

Slide 6: Control / Remedies

  • What can be done to remove / control the spread of the invasive species?
  • What can WE do asordinary citizensto help control the invasive?

  • All information must be in bulleted form (no paragraphs!) (-10 for paragraph form)
  • Each slide must have a title as described above, in the order listed above
  • 5 point deduction for wrong / missing information
  • Each slide must have at least one unique picture related to the slide.Please do not use transitions and animations. (-5 per missing or unrelated picture)
  • All work will be submitted electronically through Canvas (useSubmit, not Share).
  • Be sure to use correct spelling, grammar, and units (-2 per instance)
