Use the ifconfig command to view your current configuration. The configuration settings are in the file$/$etc$/$sysconfig$/$network$-$scripts$/$ifcfg$-$ethO. View the settings using the cat command. Take note of your loopback address and the default gateway and the DNS$1$ address. Using ping, check your loopback address, your default gateway and your DNS server. Use the CTRL$+$C keystroke to stop sending the packets and view the result of each command.
