Use this data set to answer the questions. For efficiency, set the problem up in Excel so that you enter the numbers only once. When reporting your numeric answers, omits the units. Remember to use the correct number of significant figures to report your answers.

Calculate the mean (or "average") of the measured values. You may omit the unit of measure (g).

What is the average deviation from the mean for all the data points? Remember to use absolute values when calculating the average deviation.

The relative mean deviation (RMD) quantifies the precision of the measurements. It is expressed as a percent of the mean value (Equation 1.3). Smaller RMDs indicate higher precision. Calculate RMD for the data set. Omit the % sign in your answer.

Calculate the standard deviation for the data set (Eq. 1.2).

Note, when the answer comes up, the number of significant figures will be wrong because BlackBoard won't let me use a trailing zero!
