Using a publicly available dataset, you will develop and test a causal research question on an exposure and outcome of your choosing. The project will include the following requirements:
- Part 1: Develop a testable causal research question which will be submitted to the instructor for review/approval prior to work on Part 2
You may use datasets that are in R for project 1, use data() to find all the datasets available in R. The data available in R includes files like YRBSS.
In the Project One part one module on the homepage there are a variety of data sets you may consider using for your project, such as
- Datasets from openintro.org (the source of our text book)
- NYC Community Health Survey (full and reduced data sets)
- A transit physical activity survey
You may chose ONE data set from those offered or any other data set available on openintro.org
In part one of your project 1 please state what dataset you are going to use, what your research question is, and what variables are in the dataset that you will be using. It will also help if you provide a preliminary idea of what statistical test(s) you plan to use. Your approach to the problem is what you are graded on, i.e., we are expecting you to do your project perfectly rather than to do the perfect project.
Please use the attached template to submit Project 1 Part 1.
