Using Reinforcement and Shaping

After completing the reading, explain reinforcement. Be sure to do the following:

• Define positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement and give an example of each.
• Then, explain intrinsic and extrinsic reinforcement and give an example of each.
• Considering positive and negative reinforcement, and intrinsic and extrinsic reinforcement, define shaping and briefly describe how you would shape a college student to turn in assignments on time each week. Be sure to consider sociocultural factors of the college student.
