Organization is important. That's where a step outline

comes into play.

What is the Step Outline?

Simply is a breakdown of your treatment into scene by scene

document. This is the final step BEFORE you w.r.i.t.e your

screenplay. Or PSA.

A synopsis or 'Step Outline." The objective is to list the

events of a story. This should be a straightforward presentation

of the story because if you are submitting your story/script

film or TV show for consideration, the step outline will often

determine the success of your overall proposal.

Step Outlines are often broken out by SCENE SLUG and below a

SHORT SNETENCE of the scene overall SCENE plot. It is a good

idea to capitalize a character the first time he or she is

introduced. This will help the reader understand who is

necessary in each scene.
