Document Current Process:

Map out the current process flow in detail. Include all steps, decision points, and stakeholders involved. This documentation should have been gathered in the Measure phase; use it as the baseline for your analysis.

Identify Performance Metrics:

Define what metrics are currently used to measure the process's performance. If no metrics exist, propose suitable metrics that can effectively measure process efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Conduct Root Cause Analysis:

Using tools such as the Fishbone Diagram $($Ishikawa$),$ Five Whys$,$ or Pareto Analysis, identify potential root causes for the inefficiencies or problems in the process. Document your findings and rationale thoroughly.

Develop a Root Cause Statement:

Synthesize your findings into a clear and concise root cause statement for each identified issue. This statement should cover the core issue affecting the process.
