Using the SOAR Analytics Model

This is the scenario:

You have been asked to present an analysis asking and addressing an accounting, finance, marketing, operations, supply$-$chain, or other business$-$related question that you believe will help the company address an issue. Provide a write$-$up to the CEO of the company $($or director of a nonprofit entity$)$ containing a comprthensive summary of your analysis, as well as any recommendations for further action. Your presentation $($at your instructor's option$)$ should summarize your analysis, focusing on your recommendations and justification. At a minimum, your presentation and write$-$up should do the following.

Provide background and an overview. Summarize key facts about the business$/$organization$.$ Describe key factors that affect the organization's performance as a profit$-$maximizing, governmental, or non$-$profit entity. If relevant, describe important current events affecting the organization that might give rise to your question.

Explain your role and motivation. What big$-$picture problem are you trying to address or solve with business analytics? Why is addressing this issue important to your organization?

Specify the question. Which specific questions are you trying to answer? How will you use business analytics to answer these

questions? The more specific you can be with each question, the more specific your search for data and your data analysis can be$.$ When asking a question, consider whether you can gain access to appropriate data that can answer that question.

Obtain the data. Which data set$($s$)$ will you use to answer the question? Consider using the data sources discussed in $$ Chapter $2$ and throughout the text, as well as the other data sources listed in $$ Exhibit $12\mathrm{.}6.$ You will need to prepare the data: Clean it as necessary to prepare for analysis and make sure the data are loaded completely, aren't missing any information, and are machine readable, numeric, and ready for analysis. Are there any issues with data quality and other data manipulations, transformations, and additional attributes you developed?
