combine different facility layouts to maximise both their profit and space utilization.

INSTRUCTIONS ON ASSESSMENT:

$1.$ Acquaint yourself with the various facility layouts and corresponding

strategies currently in place across the different industries.

i$.$ Provide a detailed background report on the different facility layout

strategies currently being used in the following industries in South

Africa: Manufacturing; Retail and Fast$-$food industries.

ii$.$ Based on the information described above, describe the specific

layout$($s$)$ operational in a business of your choice from the three

industries identified.

$2.$ Present a prototype of the different facility layout strategies as you may

have identified above.

i$.$ Each prototype MUST have pictorial evidence.

ii$.$ Indicate from each prototype the significance of the strategy

adopted.
