We will calculate Z 2 1 x 2 dx using Riemann Sums.

(1) Draw a sketch of the function y = x ^2 on the closed interval [1, 2].

(2) On the same graph, construct rectangles representing a Riemann Sum using a regular partition with n = 4 and x i is the right hand endpoint of the i th subinterval.

(3) Calculate X 4 i=1 f(x i )xi from (2) by expanding the sum (i.e. use + not P) and then evaluating.

(4) Repeat steps (1) - (3) using n = 10
