Website Proposal (5%) 25 MARKS TOTAL The proposal is intended to provide initial feedback on your topic and offer direction in the development of your website. In order to develop this assignment, you will have to have thought about your topic and spent time brainstorming ideas for the various elements of your website. In order to complete this proposal, you should respond to each of the following sections: Section 1: What is your topic? (3 marks) Please explain your topic and why you chose this topic. In your response you should discuss whether this is a personal, professional, or educational interest and why you are interested in developing a website on this topic. This section of the assignment should be between 100 - 150 words - please include word count at the end of the response, like so... (23 words). Section 2: Audience, Persona, and Purpose (7 marks) Create a persona for your intended audience (see text, Writing for the Web, pg. 8-11) and write a short paragraph that justifies your broader intended audience. You should also discuss the purpose of your website. In other words, what do you want the audience to take away/get from the information on the website? This section of the assignment should be 100 - 150 words - please include the word count at the end of the response. Section 3: Content Pages and Rationale (12 marks) In addition to the main home page for the website, you will need to develop THREE (3) additional pages of information-based content that relates to your topic. For this assignment, you will provide an outline the names of your intended content pages. For EACH content page you should also provide a brief discussion on: A rationale for why you are including that page? How it relates to your topic? A brief discussion on the type of information you will put on that page. Your discussion for each page should be minimum 75 words (be concise!). Section 4: Platform and URL (Website) Link (3 marks) Using your Georgian College information, create an account on one of the platforms listed (Weebly, Wix, other) and open your website. You will be asked to choose a name for your website. Be sure to think about this and how it might relate to your topic. You are not required to build any content on your website for this assignment.
