WEEK 1: INFORMATIVE SPEECH PREPARATION: TOPIC SELECTION Informative Speech Preparation: Topic Selection Welcome to SPCH275! This week, you will select a topic for the informative speech that you will record and submit in Week 3. Detailed requirements for the speech are provided on the Week 1 Assignment page. The topic choice for your informative speech should be related to your career in its current or future state. In other words, it can be related to the job you have right now or a job you hope to have in the future, perhaps after you graduate from DeVry. Here are a few possible topic choices. Welcome a group of new employees by informing them about the history, values, and vision of your organization. Assume you have a new colleague who is joining your department and will be performing in a similar role to your own. Explain the key duties associated with your job, and tell your colleague how to be successful. Inform us about your dream job for the future. Explain the duties of the job, the qualifications needed to be hired, and what makes it your dream job. Tell us about one of your core competencies. That is, something you can do better than anybody else you know. Explain how you became an expert and why this particular skill is important to your success at work. Assume your organization is implementing a new policy, procedure, or strategy. Explain what it is, why the organization is doing it, and what your colleagues need to do to make sure it is implemented successfully
