Weekly Learning Objective: Understand the value analysis process.
Purchasing strategy implementation is an important component of both domestic and global initiatives. Short product life cycles, volatility of demand, pressure for cost reductions and the ever-changing marketplace require firms to change strategies and tactical approaches from time-to-time to survive. Sourcing strategy is driven by customer requirements and competitive forces and needs to be aligned with a firm's manufacturing, technology, and marketing strategies for long-term success. This case takes a deep dive into these issues.

Review Case Study: Digitex Corporation (attached below)
Part 1: Slideshow
As a team create a slideshow based on the Digitex Corporation case study in your textbook. Options for slideshow presentation software include but not restricted to the following:
Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, Emaze, Prezi, Microsoft Sway, Google Slides, Keynote (Mac). These are free to use (with some restrictions) and most will require you to create a free account. These are all accessed outside the Blackboard platform. The slideshow should be comprehensive. Access the view-only Google document that describes the outline your slideshow should follow. Use whatever tools necessary to effectively collaborate on this project.
Part 1: Slideshow Requirements
Your slideshow must have a 12-15 slides of content and the product should be visibly pleasing, content rich, and well organized. Include a title slide with an APA style reference page as your last slide (not included in the slide minimum).
Part 2: Slideshow Presentation
Selecting someone new from your team, use the Kaltura Multimedia Platform to record a face-visible video presenting the slideshow for submission. Open your slideshow and use the Screen & Webcam option within Kaltura to record your desktop while you present (picture-in picture) the findings from your research located in your slideshow. Use the following tutorials for using Kaltura: Video Tutorial Part I, Video Tutorial Part II, Video Tutorial Part III, Video Tutorial Part IV, Video Recording Best Practices
Part 2: Slideshow Presentation Requirements
Your presentation should be 15-20 minutes maximum in length. You are presenting, so delivery is important. You want to sound enthusiastic while also conveying information. Cite your sources aloud, as not doing so is plagiarism. In a presentation you would say something like: According to Conrad and Poole....(quote).
Note: Submit your recording on behalf of the team using the appropriate Assignment submission link. Click the submission link, select Write Submission>Mashups>Kaltura Media from the toolbar and select your recording of the slideshow presentation.
If you need assistance with the Kaltura recording tool, please contact Student Technical Support.
