Whan a process calls fork$()$:

$[$ Select $]["$FALSE$",$ "TRUE"$]$ Parent process retains is original process ID $-$ let us call it pid; Child process is assigned the process ID pid$-1($hyphen$)$ indicating it is the first child of pid.

$[$ Select $]["$TRUE$",$ "FALSE"$]$ If the parent process does not call "wait$()",$the child process will become a zombie process after completing execution of its code.$$

$[$ Select $]["$TRUE$",$ "FALSE"$]$ Child will inherit the parent's open file descriptors and the parent loses access to those files.$$

$[$ Select $]["$FALSE$",$ "TRUE"$]$ Child will inherit the parent's signal handlers
