There are a couple of purposes of developing an annotated bibliography. First, it is that initial "works cited" page that is needed for your research paper. Second, it allows the reader to evaluate your sources, from its credibility to the purpose of the source.

As you are writing your annotated bibliography, you will need the following:

1. An MLA works cited entry on the source.

2. A paragraph that features the following information:

• Author's credentials
• A summary of the article/source
• How you plan to use this source into your paper (background information, opposing viewpoint, or supporting reason)

Remember:

• You need five sources that are cited correctly in MLA format.
• You can use a combination of database articles (through the library), books (you will need eventually at leastONEbook for the final version of your research paper), and multimedia sources (video and audio) available through the library databases.
• No more thantwowebsites.
• For each source, you will need a paragraph that address the author's credentials, a summary of the article or source, and how you plan to use this source in your project (background information, opposing viewpoint, or supporting reason).
