Read both of these short arguments; they should be easily accessible on the internet. Just Googling their names should do it. Summarize their views in one or two pages, typewritten and double-spaced. You need not state why you feel that one of these authors has the better of the dispute, but try to answer this question: Why should you care about improving your English even if it is unfair to hold your less-than-perfect writing skills against you?
