What is a cwt???

It is an old British term C is the Roman numeral for 100; wt is one of many short forms for the word weight; cwt literally means hundred weight; only by knowing that its a British term and that the British use pounds would you know that it refers to 100lbs.

Most trucking rates are quoted in dollars per cwt or 100 pounds.
