What is a flash chamber and how does it work? I am designing a glycerol steam reformation plant, and among the things recommended to me is a flash chamber instead of a heat exchanger for cooling. The gases to be cooled are a mixture of H$2,$ CO$2$ and H$2$O steam at $350$c and $1$atm. The goal is to condense the H$2$O into water to be drained, leaving the gas phase to go on to other separations. How does a flash chamber work, what are the working equations, what should I set my final temperature to be$,$ and can I assume it removes all of the condensed steam $($if not, what fraction can I assume is condensed?$).$
