The University Dental Clinic (UDC) serves as a walk-in clinic (i.e. no appointments) that takes care of basic dental health. (Other, more extensive dental work is done by a separate clinic on campus.) Patients arrive on average every 11.0 minutes at the UDC. The layout of the clinic is such that there is one room per hygienist, but a separate room is set aside for the dentist to examine patients. The clinic also employs a receptionist and a bookkeeper and a cashier who excepts payment.
