Please read - "In conclusion, I believe creating tax exemptions for philantropic donations motivates individuals and corporations to make donations in order to take advantage of tax loopholes and allows individuals and corporations to function outside of the democratic process. Therefore, as currently structured philantropy goes against the principles of democracy. Philantropy has the capability of truly helping people with donations subjected to tax laws. This would allow adequate tax-generated dollars to fund federal and state policies and for philantropic organizations to address the issues and causes for which they were created to support."
