What research or study design is best fitted for a research that measures a variable (e.g depression) using a scale, and then an intervention will follow, and then after some time, levels of variable such as the level of depression will be measured again using a psychological test? Please elaborate.

EXAMPLE: In an isolation facility, patients' level of depression were measured. Then an intervention was introduced, such as lending them gadgets to connect with their loved ones. After sometime, depression levels were again measured. And then the scores before and after intervention were compared.
