What to Do

After completing the reading and exercises in modules M4A, discuss one or both of the following topics. Be sure to clearly identify which topic you are discussing at the start of your post.

Topic 1

How are the House and the Senate similar? Different? On balance, which institution would you rather serve in? Why did you select that one?

Topic 2

Why is it hard for Congress to pass laws? Should the system be streamlined? Why or why not? Generally speaking, is it better to make laws quickly or slowly?

Describe the concepts associated with political organization in general and the United States in particular.

Investigate the powers of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government.

Using data, graphs, charts, and other types of evidence, examine the effectiveness of public policies adopted by the United States and California.
