In the criminal justice system you have the criminal laws that you have to follow, so when developing, evaluating, and participating in a program that is in direct correlation with the criminal justice system you have to not only follow what will benefit the participants, but also stay within the confines of the law.

In the district attorney's office there is victim's advocacy program.While an advocate may have certain feelings towards the victim and their circumstances, they have maintained their level of professional integrity by removing their personal feelings.As a whole the program has to look at the laws and ensure that their program is meeting the standards for all victims.The advocates have to maintain statistics of the types of crimes their victims are victims of.In doing this when evaluating the program the director can then look at how they are maintaining the relationships with the victims.

These evaluations can determine if after the case has been resolved in court the victim needs additional assistance and the type of assistance they need.This can range from monetary, emotional treatment, and physical medical treatment.The director can then look to see if there are other ways for their advocates to present to their current victims of some of the same crimes with additional resources prior to the conclusion of the case.

Maintaining this data continuously builds a stronger program for future victims that will encounter the victim's advocates.
