Traditional paralegals are more involved with the lawyer in working directly on the case. They assist with depositions, assist in court, meet with clients, and have billable hours. Nonlawyer legal service providers work more behind the scenes of a case or in a law firm. Filing, document management, and scheduling may be some responsibilities of a nonlawyer legal service provider.
