What would the weaknesses be in the study?

This study used thematic analysis for an excerpt from an interview on the healthtalk.org website. Using thematic analysis, themes were identified and analysed, and connections were explored to explore transitional moments in the individual's life span. This study was based on themes of life span development and draws on the self and how this identity creates and forms relationships with others and oneself through age and experiences. Each chapter in an individual's life span shows transitional moments or ruptures, often reflecting on changing characteristics, life paths, or forms of identity. Erik Erikson (1950), who modified Freud's psychosexual theory, created the eight stages of man (Crafter 2025). From infancy to adulthood, these stages involve psychological conflicts or ruptures that individuals must overcome to feel a sense of adequacy. It was viewed that some areas of his theory don't include individuals who don't fit his specific narrative. Cultural and specific social aspects were not included, such as someone who grew up with an illness or an adult who chooses a career over parenting. Regardless, his work was dated during a specific time in history and is still highly respected. Developmental psychologists still address the connection that childhood experience can have on how we develop into adulthood. However, this is scrutinised as it would imply that those who come from deprivation will suffer from cognitive and social problems (Crafter, 2025). A study contradicts this theory further, Rutter (1972) cited in (Crafter 2025). "That children respond to stressful experiences with a great deal of variety , and many display a high degree of resilience." Furthermore, it is also cited in (Crafter 2025). by (Lawler and Gunner, 2012) that children in good quality childcare, or those adopted early, can show signs of reversing the consequences of early deprivation in all domains'.
