When creating a Cause and Effect$($Fishbone$)$ diagram, it is important$$ to:

The major categories must be in a particular orientation$($starting in the top right hand corner and going clockwise place each category on a major$$bone:$$ Manpower$$ Method, Material and$$ Machine$)$

Get as much information down without concern for the socially constructed categories$($this is a Brainstorming exercise$$ you do not want to limit the ideas being$$ generated$)$

Pay strict attention to the major categories$($Manpower$,$ Method,$$ Material, Machine$)$ as errors in documentation causes problems later

The major categories are less important than the ideas and$$sub$-$ideas$$ that are added by participants. These additions to the Cause and Effect diagram are the most important aspects as they are going to be the drivers for data collection
