An open system is a system that is able to interact with its environment. It exchanges information, resources and influences. The open system concept was originally used to be able to understand complex systems that have interactions with their environments. When we consider my company as an open system, we identify multiple resources that all make up the company inputs. Human Resources- this consists of employees, vendors, and LP departments. Employees ensure that customers are able to find the items they are looking for. Vendors ensure the product makes it to the stores and LP is responsible for ensuring protection over the store as a whole. Financial Resources- this would include the financials that have been generated to invest in the company, the revenue that is generated on a daily basis and potential financial investments that will help oversee future growth and expansion. Technology resources- shopper apps, technological infrastructure, registers and other electronic devices that help ensure product is ready to be sold to our customers.
