Use Ctrl $+$ Enter to insert $6$ pts instead of $12$ pts$.$

Go to Home $>$ Paragraph $>$ Line and Paragraph Spacing $>$ Line Spacing Options. Under Spacing $>$ Before change the field to $6$ pt$.$

Use Shift $+$ Enter to insert $6$ pts instead of $12$ pts$.$
