While Mrs. Smith recovered, Mr. Olson did some additional investigating of his own by interviewing the Smiths' neighbors, employers, and mutual friends. It turned out that Mr. Smith had an affair with Jennifer Queue, and that Ms. Queue hated Mrs. Smith. Ms. Queue even told one neighbor that if Mr. Smith wouldn't divorce Mrs. Smith, she (Ms. Queue) would "see to it that the relationship ended badly for everyone involved, but especially for Angie." Mr. Olson thought it possible--just possible--that Ms. Queue murdered Mr. Smith and then tried to "frame" Mrs. Smith for the murder by planting fabricated evidence
