While working at Sinai, they offered a $50-$dollar gift card at Christmas time and years of service incentives. I am trying to remember the amount of money, but they recognized the $1$st$,3$rd$,5$th$,10$th$,15$th$,$ and $20$th years of service. I enjoyed receiving the $50-$dollar gift card at Christmas time. I remember many employees complaining that they did not feel valued by the amount of money given. The employees did not offer to give the gift card back either. The programs for the drivers were better regarding monetary values because they received safety bonuses as well. The general office staff was not offered safety bonuses, only management and drivers. Once a driver receives recognition for overall safety, they would create a poster with their picture on it and hang it on the walls at the office. The incentives that they gave had drawbacks to them. The holiday bonus made employees feel underappreciated, and the years of service for employees in between the years given recognition needs to be more robust. All employees should be valued the same. Therefore, safety bonuses should be given to any employee who meets the safety guidelines that are adhered to at Sinai. The years of service should be recognized for every year worked, not just a set amount of time. The Christmas bonus should be reevaluated and set at a higher amount. When employees feel valued, they want to perform their best.
