WI Chapter $5$ Direct Request Email

This is a preparatory assignment; students earn full credit simply by submitting it on time. Feedback on the rough drafts will be provided via one of three previously announced Zoom sessions. Students must submit their rough drafts prior to attending a Zoom help session.

You the vice president of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international business honors society. Only the top $10$ percent of seniors, juniors, and second$-$semester sophomores are invited to join. The president of the organization, Taylor Jones, is very interested in expanding the philanthropic and community relations of the Tarleton chapter and especially volunteerism for its active members.

Taylor read about Tarleton's expanded Service$-$Learning Day opportunities this semester and has asked you to write a letter to Dr$.$ Sharon Bowers, director of Community Engagement and Service Learning, to learn more about service learning opportunities that would most benefit members of Beta Gamma Sigma. Taylor feels that the more closely related the service activity is to a student's business major, the better the experience will look on that student's resume. Taylor also believes that service learning could be a great way to start networking within students' career fields, if students can find the right service$-$learning activities.

Taylor has asked you to research Service$-$Learning Day and ask logical questions that a member of BGS interested in participating might ask. Taylor specifically wants you to ask if student organizations are able to submit Service$-$Learning Day activity ideas. Write a direct request email from you $($not Taylor$)$ to Dr$.$ Sharon Bowers.
