Wikis are powerful tools for enterprises for creating the knowledge base and generating company documents like students work. However, this tool brings more power to companies that they can employ people outside of the office. I think there are two disadvantages of doing it from employee side:

1. Employees may work more than standard office times due to creating a virtual office that can be accessed from anywhere. This is also great if company policies are strict with your weekly work hours but open to abuse.

2. Jobs can be outsourced to people that they are not physically there. This is also great for people who can find be hired from another city or even another country but reduces the importance of being physically there. (FANDOM,n.a.)

These two sides of workplace wikis may influence current careers and create new opportunities at the same time.
