With the data provided in the table, construct the corresponding phase diagram for the Si-Ge system. Use open circles for the liquidous line and filled circles for the solidus line.

b. Calculate the solidus and liquidus lines for this system (H fusion (Si) = 50.2 kJ/mol, H fusion(Ge) = 36.9 kJ/mol). You will need to look up the melting temperature for each material. Overlay the data on the phase diagram that you plotted in part a. Use solid lines for both the liquidous and solidus lines.

c. Compare the calculated diagram with the experimental data. Why do you think the model we used fits one of the lines better than the other?
